A Meticulous Surgical Process
Cosmetic eye surgery has long been a popular treatment for people with a droopy eyelid. At St. Michael’s Eye & Laser Institute, our eyelid surgery techniques have led to great outcomes for our patient s from Clearwater, Florida. Through our meticulous surgical process, we can safely and effectively lift drooping eyelids, reduce puffiness in the upper and lower lids, and remove excess skin. The result? You’ll look younger while enjoying an expanded field of vision.
Conditions That We Can Treat
At St. Michael’s, our skilled surgeons can perform the procedure on the upper lids, lower lids, or both. Good candidates for cosmetic eye surgery are those who are healthy and have no medical conditions that can impair healing. If you have any of the following conditions, we may be able to treat you:
- Bags under the eyes
- Sagging skin that disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid and obstructs peripheral vision
- Droopy lower lids that reveal white below the iris
- Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower lid
What Does Eyelid Surgery Entail?
Generally, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Your surgeon will create a small incision in the fold of the upper eyelid and trim away excess skin. As the incision is closed, your eyelid will be tightened and smoothed, giving you a younger, more vibrant appearance. Your stitches will be removed after about a week, and you can expect to see the full results of your surgery after about six weeks.
